THE GOD

We are a country who already have crores of Gods and still making some more modern Gods. As per the Oxford dictionary, God means ‘the being or spirit that is worshipped and is believed to have created the universe’, and for some ‘a person who is loved or admired very much by other people ‘. We want to forget our pains by believing in others capacity to create miracle or new milestones in life and nowadays in Cricket. Cricket has become one important part of life, where we have made one God who has created records over records. Under the glare and glory of cricket we have become blind. Blind not to notice any other sports around us.

Television and the Indian Premier league has been instrumental in promoting the game and the God equally. Sad is the story of other sports left under the shadow of this glory of Cricket. Recently bored with the scams in Cricket, I watched Football. There I came to know the glory of the few tribal girls, from Oramanjhi village , around 20 Km from Ranchi, who brought glory to India, by winning the bronze in all women soccer tournament held in Spain. Eighteen tribal girls representing Yuwa India under-14 all-girls team were placed third among 10 all-girls teams from Spain playing for the Gasteiz Cup in Victoria Gasteiz in Spain on July 13 . It was biggest surprise for me to know that these girls from the remote hamlets of Jharkhand, ventured into a rich man’s world. After the end of the game the girls were interviewed and all of them attributed their success to their God -Franz Gastler. This God  is the founder and Executive Director of Yuwa a Sports organization.  Working in three villages coaching girls in soccer. He is a, a 30-year old American who had first come to Jharkhand four years back to teach in village s, shared the story of the team’s journey from Ranchi to Spain. He along with the villagers, is struggling to find peace and support with all the resistance and  opposition from the local authorities and  people.
.
He is a true God, A GOD for the girls and for all those souls in the dark. He deserves all the praise and support to take his movement forward., to bring smile on those otherwise forgotten faces.
